    The Barnstable Town Band is an independent, town-sponsored, non-profit organization founded in 1953. It was created to provide musicians in and around Barnstable the opportunity to play concert music for personal enjoyment, and to entertain audiences each summer. It has found a permanent home on the Hyannis Town Green.  Bring a blanket or beach chair.  Hometown music at it’s best!

    Issa Coulibaly began studying the djembe and dun dun when he was 11 in his home city of Bamako, Mali. As his skill and reputation as a multi-instrumental player, vocalist and arranger grew, Issa toured Africa and Europe extensively before emigrating to America. He continues to travel widely to facilitate retreats and perform as the lead drummer and Musical Director for a variety of African Dance and Drum troupes.     This year NCC has three new shows, and several special events.  Theater includes a new children’s show, Alex Comes Clean, a new adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classics, Alice;  and a special one weekend only performance of “Laugh it Up Fuzzball: New Classics Presents A New Hope!”  Plans include Improv workshops and a first ever, NCC 24 hour play festival.

    The Island Merchant, 302 Main St., Hyannis, Ma. Every Friday night starts at 7PM.

    McGarry, along with a polished crew of regular sidemen and guest performers has been playing virtually every Friday evening at The Island Merchant for the past five years.  The performances tend to unfold with the natural affability and quiet confidence of a professional ensemble and McGarry’s beautiful singing voice and deep musicality are the center that holds.

    44th Annual Historical Lecture Series

    All lectures are held in the Olde Colonial Courthouse, Route 6A & Rendezvous Lane, Barnstable Village starting at 7PM.

    Price of admission is $5.00 for members and $7.00 for non-members, and includes refreshments following the program. It is open seating, no reservations taken.

    Parking is available on the street and across the street at St. Mary’s Church.
